WEEK #4 WEDNESDAY MAY 23, 2018 PLUS SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT FOR THE WINTER

Tonight is Week #4 Wednesday May 23, 2018 Kinsmen Arena

Team Dirka  vs.  Team Lia     8:00pm  –  9:00pm.

Team Blair  vs.  Team Jacquie     9:00pm  – 10:00pm

Something to think about for next Fall-Winter. The City of London is planning a trial program to provide a dry pad (no ice) at Silverwoods Arena for the Fall Winter 2018-2019 season. Given the availability of 1.0hr – 1.5hrs of lacrosse floor time every week, how likely would you be to show up on a (semi) regular basis for winter pickup Masters lacrosse (October – March). Our gut feel is that there are likely 15-20 players that would want to play on a weekly basis ….. so 10-14 showing up on any random week. Weekly pay as you pay would be WAY too much work to administer so the thought would be to make the winter floor time a perk/part of the summer HL feature set. Silverwoods is not the best arena for lacrosse but that is all that the CoL is offering us for now. We’re thinking that if we don’t take advantage this year we may never get a chance again. WEEK #2 TEAM DIRKA AND TEAM JACQUIE POST WINS

In the early game Team Dirka continued its winning ways by holding on to single goal lead, running out the time on a 7-6 victory over Team Blair. In the late game DustinD was the big story scoring 5+ goals to lead Team Jacquie to a 10-7 victory over Team Lia.

Next is Week #3, Wednesday May 16, 2018 Kinsmen Arena

WEEK #1 – IN THE RECORD BOOKS

Week #1 is done and recorded. Pretty good turnouts for all of the teams. Still a few players that have said they are playing but haven’t got around to signing up….sigh…. kids!

In the 1st game, Team Dirka  pulled out a 9-6 victory over Team Lia. In the 2nd game Team Blair got ahead early but let Team Jacquie back in the game requiring a last minute goal to tie the game at 9-9.
