We had a solid turnout of <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"103\">16 runners<\/b> and two goalies, which is a fantastic start to the 2026 season.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Highlights:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"6\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Solid Netminding:<\/b> Huge thanks to <b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"33\">Cie<\/b> and our new goalie, <b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"57\">Matt<\/b>, for coming out. Between the two of them, we saw some incredible stops that made the runners work for every goal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The &#8220;Wooden Floor&#8221; Factor:<\/b> If you felt like your bounce was off, you weren&#8217;t alone. The wood definitely played differently than the arena floor, and it took a while for everyone to adjust.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">It\u2019s Always the Stick:<\/b> There was plenty of &#8220;winter rust&#8221; on display. Many of us spent the night wondering why our sticks weren&#8217;t shooting like they used to &#8211; clearly, the sticks are the problem, not the six months away from the game!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Cardio Reality Check:<\/b> Some of us (myself included) found out quickly that running the full length of the floor is a bit different than thinking about it. I had planned on &#8220;just standing there,&#8221; but Cie had other ideas. Thanks for the push!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\"><b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Road to 4 Teams<\/b> While we had a great crew out, we also received regrets from several people who couldn&#8217;t make it last night but are locked in for the season. Between the current attendance and those returning soon, we have a real possibility of expanding our team format from last year!<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Challenge:<\/b> We are pushing to grow the league. If everyone brings just one friend out to the next session, we can easily hit the numbers needed for a full 4-team rotation.
