Looks like the summer doldrums are hitting as soon as summer starts – two teams with low turnout lead to a blowout loss and our 1st default of the summer.

In the 1st game Team Lia was missing both players and a some key scoring power. They were able to keep it close for 1 period but the Team Jacquie scoring duo of DustinD and BradyD kept pouring it on, opening up a 7 goal lead and coating to an easy victory Team Jacquie 11  –  Team Lia 4. Trying to get his team worked up a bit and sending a message for the next time these teams meet, KevinL lasered a canon shot off the helmet of JustinP late in the game. Not a goal but a message nonetheless. Commentators were impressed!

In the 2nd game Team Dirka could only field 4 players so Team Sharley got the 1-0 default win. To not waste the floor time a couple of pickups plus a few recruits from the early game were added to make up Team Dirka(+*) and it was GAME ON! Tied at 2 at the end of 1 period, and still tied at 4 at the end of the 2nd, the 3rd period promised to be interesting. Team Sharley pulled out to a 4 goal lead but Team Dirka(+*) started to claw back in to the game. Pretty goals from RussA, BradyD, and the  Kegger tied it up and then a spectacular last second BradyD precision,  cross-crease pass leading to a GarrettL quick stick goal pulled out a nail biting victory for Team Dirka(+*). Exciting game to watch. For the record books it was likely the 1st time that LMHLL had all of our female team owners playing in the same game.
