Two pretty good games last night – if you can call ties …good. Back and forth, lots of scoring in one game, a relatively exciting evening of lacrosse.

In the first game both teams had solid bench numbers. Team Lia jumped to an early lead but Team Dirka kept clawing back. Team Lia led by 1 at the end of the first period 4-3, and both teams scored 4 in the second to maintain the difference. In the 3rd Team Dirka, led by JodyH and FrankS (!) tied it up and pulled ahead by 2 for their first lead of the 2019 season. A flurry of goals from both sides and time ran out on a tie game, Team Dirka 12 – Team Lia 12. Good game, some nice ball movement, lots of scoring, lots of running – its why we play the game!

In the late game, both teams were faced with short benches – only 1 spare to start for both teams. Team Sharley looked to be a bit stronger, leading by 1 after the first, and extending their lead to 2 goals after 2. But Team Jacquie was not about to give up, scoring 3 goals and only giving up 1 in the third to tie up the game, locking down Team Sharley’s shooters as time ran out to preserve the tie. Team Sharley 6 – Team Jacquie 6. Again, a pretty good game despite the lack of runners – exciting right to the last buzzer.

Next is Week #5 Wednesday June 5, 2019 Nichols Arena-

Team Sharley  vs.  Team Dirka     8:00pm  –  9:00pm.

Team Jacquie  vs.  Team Lia     9:00pm  –  10:00pm.
